ISA 2018 San Francisco

It’s always great to be back in the City, especially when it’s packed with thousands of IR pilgrims.
At the conference, I convened a panel on materiality and ontological security (where I had a paper on ontic spaces) and a panel on status anxiety in world politics entitled Make____Great Again (I filled the blanks with the EU and its politics of forgetting colonial-imperial histories).
I also took part in a roundtable on “the local” in EU peacebuilding. As always, a very busy ISA and a memorable one!
