I am a Full Professor of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade, specializing in International Security. My research explores how identity, memory, emotions, and rationality shape security dynamics in both domestic and international politics, with a regional focus on the European Union, the Western Balkans, the Horn of Africa, and the Middle East. I am currently working on research projects on geopolitics, democratic backsliding and autocratization, and the use of serious games as tools for research, foresight, and teaching in international relations.
I am the founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Regional Security and previously served as President of the Central and Eastern European International Studies Association (CEEISA) (2022–2025), following my tenure on its Executive Council (2019–2021). Earlier, I was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Bristol, where I researched local ownership in EU security sector reform missions.
Alongside my academic work, I have been actively engaged in policy research and public service through institutions including the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy, the Open Society Foundation Serbia, the Belgrade Security Forum, and the Partnership for Peace Consortium. My work has focused on democratic security sector governance, European security, conventional arms control, and international security policy.
My academic training includes degrees from the University of Belgrade (BA, PhD), Sciences Po Paris (MA), and the London School of Economics and Political Science (MSc).
